Our retreat partners with two thoughtfully chosen, family-run eco-hotels that embody the peaceful spirit of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula.
Hotel Amor de Mar – Montezuma
Nestled along the oceanfront in Montezuma, Hotel Amor de Mar has been a cherished local eco-hotel for over 30 years. With just nine rooms and two private villas, this boutique hotel offers an intimate and serene setting designed for deep rest and reconnection. Unwind in the natural tide pool as you take in sweeping views of the Pacific. Each room includes complimentary high-speed fiber optic WiFi, A/C, ceiling fans, a mini fridge, and a secure safebox.
Calala Beach Lodge – Cabuya
Located just 15 minutes down the main road, in the tranquil fishing village of Cabuya, Calala Beach Lodge is a beachfront eco-hotel that invites guests to embrace a more rustic, nature-immersed stay. The cozy cabinas are cooled by fans and sea breezes, with no A/C but fully equipped kitchenettes and access to a full-service restaurant, swimming pool, and on-site paddleboard and kayak rentals. This peaceful hideaway offers a chance to explore the magic of one of the world’s rare Blue Zones and Costa Rica’s first absolute nature reserve, Cabo Blanco.
Fun Activities
As part of self-care, we build in time for yoga or meditation daily, as well as field trips and activities that complement the training and continuing education content for enhanced learning. These may include conservation activities, sea safaris, horse healing, bioluminescence boat excursion, ATV tours, waterfall hikes, sound healing, secret beaches, wildlife watching and more!
Tours and activities may be added to the base pricing for the week to tailor your experience for your perfect stay; fees vary based on activities.

Our retreats provide wellness and relaxation in the stunning natural beauty of Cabuya and Montezuma, Costa Rica. Some are exclusive to veterinary professionals and include RACE-approved CE, while others, like our Sea & Soul Retreats, are open to all adults.

Sea & Soul Retreats are for licensed veterinarians, technicians, team members and other veterinary professionals.
Scuba divers and veterinary professionals interested in marine conservation get to benefit from combining CE with marine activities.

Our retreats take place in lush jungle and beach settings around Cabuya and Montezuma, where you’ll experience a tranquil escape surrounded by vibrant wildlife and tropical beauty. Be prepared for minimal rain and hot temperature, shirt and shoes optional! CE is held in an outdoor setting.
Travel and What to Pack

• Lightweight, breathable clothing for hot, humid weather.
• Sturdy hiking sandals or water shoes for jungle treks.
• Swimwear, sunblock, and insect repellent.
• A reusable water bottle and a rain jacket or poncho.

The region’s rich biodiversity includes ants, scorpions, and other small jungle creatures. Encounters are rare if you stay mindful, but packing insect repellent and being cautious outdoors is recommended.

Expect warm, tropical weather year-round, with occasional rain showers. Temperatures typically range from 75–95°F (24–35°C).

Yes, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected events, including cancellations, medical emergencies, or trip interruptions.
Registration, Payments, and Policies

Click on the Registration button of the retreat you would like to register for. The link will take you to a google form to fill out and deposit details will be shared to secure your spot.

A non-refundable deposit of $1000 USD is required to secure your spot. However, if you need to cancel, the deposit can be rolled over to a future retreat within 24 months.
